Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about WhatPiece and its daily One Piece games. Tap a question to see the answer.

General

What is WhatPiece?
WhatPiece is a free collection of daily games inspired by the world of One Piece. Every day you get fresh challenges: guess characters, Devil Fruits, episodes and laughs, solve word searches and Wordle, and much more. It is a fan-made project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, Toei Animation or Shueisha.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Every game is completely free and you can play without registering. Your progress, streaks and preferences are saved locally on your device. You only need to choose a nickname if you want to appear in the rankings or add friends.
Does it contain spoilers?
The games draw on characters and events from across the whole series, so if you are not up to date with the manga or anime you may come across information about arcs you have not reached yet.
What languages are available?
WhatPiece is available in English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, German, Turkish and Indonesian. You can switch language at any time from the settings menu.
Can I install WhatPiece as an app?
Yes. WhatPiece is a Progressive Web App (PWA), so you can add it to your phone or desktop home screen directly from your browser and play like a native app. You can also enable notifications to be reminded about each new daily challenge.

The Games

What games can I play?
There are more than ten daily games: Guess the Character, Guess the Fruit, Wanted, Guess the Laugh, Guess the Episode, Wordle, Word Search, Bingo, Grid, Higher or Lower, Pyramid and Impostor. New games are added regularly, so keep an eye out.
How often does the content change?
Every game has a brand-new challenge each day. The content resets at midnight, so there is always a fresh puzzle waiting — and a reason to keep your streak alive.
What if I get stuck? Are there hints?
Several games — such as Guess the Character, Wanted, Guess the Fruit and Guess the Laugh — give you progressive hints that unlock as you use up attempts. In most games you can also surrender to reveal the answer, although that counts as a loss for the day.

Progress & Community

What are streaks?
A streak counts the consecutive days you play a game. Each game keeps its own streak: play every day to build it up, and it resets if you miss a day. Streaks are a great way to challenge yourself over the long run.
I lost my streak — can I get it back?
Yes — that is exactly what shields are for. If you break a streak of at least 3 days, you can spend one shield to restore all the streaks you lost that day at once. Shields refill every month, and how many you get depends on your highest streak ever: normally 1 per month, 2 once your best streak reaches 50 days, and 3 once it reaches 100 days.
How do I unlock avatars?
You earn avatars by playing: keeping streaks, completing games, climbing the rankings and adding friends all unlock new ones, from common to ultra-legendary. When you unlock one, a pop-up lets you equip it, and you can change your avatar anytime from your profile.
How do the rankings work?
Competitive games have a daily ranking based on your result that day. On top of that there is a monthly ranking that combines your performance across the whole month, with winners crowned when the month closes. You need to pick a nickname to appear in them.
How does the friends system work?
You can add friends in two ways: by sharing your personal invite link, or by exchanging friend codes. Once you are connected you get a private friends ranking to see who comes out on top among your crew.

Account & Support

How do I keep my progress on a new device?
Because your data lives on your device, you can move it with an account transfer code: generate a code on your old device and import it on the new one to carry over your profile, streaks and friends.
I have a suggestion or found a bug — how do I get in touch?
We would love to hear from you. Use the contact page or write to us at whatpieceedle@gmail.com; your feedback and bug reports genuinely help make the games better.
